DELTA GEMS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
PROGRAM MISSION
The Delta GEMS (Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully) Institute centers on developing strong, confident and respectful young ladies who strive to be successful and take active roles in their community.
PROGRAM GOAL
- To instill the need to excel academically
- To provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success
- To assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their future "high school and beyond"
- To create compassionate, caring, and community minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Delta GEMS Institue is geared toward inspiring and enriching young African American women. Participants will participate in public service projects, college preparatory workshops, bonding activities, educational workshops, a college tour and social outings.
