Each year the Meridian Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority implements youth programs and opportunities to promote leadership, academic excellence, and service. Youth Initiatives such as Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully), Delta Debutantes, and EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) include for the youth an eight-month curriculum, including but not limited to, educational, cultural, self-enriching, and service-oriented programs and activities, as well as, a diverse experience and memories through all programming events.  Also, within this eight-month experience, the youth connect with mentors and form long-lasting relationships which extend to college.
